Georgia - Residential License Transfer Instructions

Use this process if you are:

  • A licensed Georgia Real Estate Salesperson or Broker transferring your license to Relive, or
  • An agent currently sponsored by another brokerage and moving your sponsorship to Relive.

What you’ll need (before you start):

  • Your current broker’s contact (you’ll need to notify them + potentially request signature)
  • Your Georgia license information (name/license #)
  • Ability to download and fill out a PDF form
  • A way to save proof (screenshot/PDF/email confirmation)

Step-by-step: Transfer your license to Relive

STEP 1: Notify your current broker

  • Inform your current broker that you intend to transfer your license to Relive Realty LLC.
  • This is a professional courtesy and a required step, because your current broker must release your license with the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC).
    • Tip: Ask them how they prefer to handle the signature step (some brokers sign quickly, others require internal review).

STEP 2: Complete the required GREC form (for licensed agents)

  • Complete all required fields related to transferring your license to a new brokerage.

STEP 3: Get the form signed (signature flow)

  • Once the form is complete:
    • Relive Brokerage Information (for the form + signature)Designated Broker: Kilian GoldinEmail: goldin.kilian@rebrokerforce.com
      • If your license has not been released yet, your previous broker must sign to release/approve the transfer.
      • If your license has already been released, then only Relive’s broker needs to sign.

STEP 4: Email the completed form to GREC

  • Attach the signed PDF and ensure the file is readable.

Tip: Put your name + “License Transfer to Relive Realty” in the email subject.

STEP 5: Confirmation (what happens next)

  • After submission and processing, GREC will update your license status and notify the relevant parties.
  • You should receive confirmation from:
    • GREC, and/or Your new brokerage once the transfer is completed.

IMPORTANT: Atlanta REALTORS® Association + Georgia MLS (Required)

Because Relive Realty LLC is a member of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association (ARA) and Georgia MLS, all agents affiliated with Relive in Georgia must be compliant with board/MLS rules. That means you must do ONE of the following:

  • Join the Association (REALTOR® Member)
    • Choose this option if you want to be an association member.

    • You become a member through the association membership process.
    • You pay the standard membership dues and required fees.
    • This satisfies the ARA/Georgia MLS compliance requirement.
  • Register as a Non-Member Licensee (NML)
    • Choose this option if you do not want to be an association member.

    • You must register as a Non-Member Licensee to stay compliant with ARA/Georgia MLS rules.
    • You still pay fees for non-member status.
    • Non-member fees are often higher than member dues.
    • This also satisfies the ARA/Georgia MLS compliance requirement.

Compliance & audits (read carefully)

ARA/Georgia MLS may audit brokerage rosters and registration status (similar to Texas).

Your license transfer alone does NOT complete this requirement.

You must also be correctly registered as either a Member, or a Non-Member Licensee (NML).

If you’re not properly registered, it can create compliance issues for you and the brokerage.

Fees & payment process (how it works at Relive)

As far as we know, Non-Member Licensees cannot pay Georgia MLS or Atlanta REALTORS® directly.

All fees and registrations are handled through the brokerage, meaning:

  • Relive collects the required fees from the agent (based on Member vs Non-Member route)
  • Relive registers you and pays the board/MLS fees on your behalf

Expect that if you choose the Non-Member Licensee route, there will still be fees—and they may be higher due to non-member status.

Common mistakes to avoid:

  • Submitting an unsigned form
  • Sending the form to the wrong email (use grecmail@grec.state.ga.us)
  • Not notifying your current broker early (delays release/signature)
  • Forgetting the MLS/Association compliance step (Member vs NML)
  • Assuming you can pay MLS/Association fees directly (in many cases you can’t)

Brokerage reference (internal / for verification)

  • Relive Realty LLC is registered with GREC as an active real estate firm (used as reference when filling forms / verifying brokerage details).
