CAR (Chicago) — Membership Transfer to Relive Real Estate, Inc.
If you are joining Relive from another brokerage, you will need to update your Chicago Association of REALTORS® (CAR) membership so your office reflects Relive Real Estate, Inc.
However, before transferring your membership you must first make sure your license is showing up under Relive Real Estate, Inc. with IDFPR. For instructions on how to transfer your license, follow the steps here (link to Illinois license transfer article — to be added).
Please note: The CAR transfer form is only for active Chicago REALTOR® members who are current on all dues and are moving to another brokerage within CAR. If you belong to a different REALTOR® association, or you are not an active CAR member right now, do not use the form. Call CAR at 312-803-4900 or email membership@chicagorealtor.com instead.
Steps to Transfer
- Transfer your license to Relive Real Estate, Inc. through IDFPR.
- Wait until the managing broker has accepted your license transfer.
- Open the CAR Member Transfer Notification Request form. Use Chrome, Edge or Firefox — CAR asks that you do not use Safari for this form.
- Under Member Information, enter your CAR Member ID, name, real estate license number, date of birth and home address.
- Under What Office Are You Leaving?, enter your former office name, former managing broker and former office MLS ID.
- Under What Office Are You Joining?, enter Relive's information exactly as shown in the next section.
- Under Updated Member Contact Information, enter the phone number and email you want on your CAR and MLS profile.
- Under Supporting Documents, upload proof of sponsorship. Any one of these works:
- A screenshot from the IDFPR License Look-up showing your license active under Relive, or a copy of your license showing Relive as sponsor
- A screenshot of the managing broker's acceptance in the IDFPR Online Portal and proof of the $35 IDFPR payment
- A 45-day Sponsor Permit and proof of the $35 IDFPR payment
- Pay the CAR transfer fee.
- In Confirmation Email, enter your own email. In Send a Copy to your Office, enter asteele@reliverealty.com.
- Click Submit.
Once processed, your CAR and MLS records will be updated to Relive Real Estate, Inc.

Do You Have Active MLS Listings?
Your listings may not move with your membership transfer. Listings belong to your previous brokerage until they are released, so contact CAR Membership before submitting the form to confirm how your active listings will be handled.
