Chicago Market — How to Join CAR
Residential agents working in the Chicago market join the Chicago Association of REALTORS® (CAR) by submitting a New REALTOR® Member Application directly to CAR. Membership in CAR also makes you a member of Illinois REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), and gives you access to the MLS through MRED (Midwest Real Estate Data). Follow the steps below to join.
Before getting started, make sure:
- Your Illinois real estate license (Broker or Managing Broker) is active with IDFPR and sponsored by Relive Real Estate, INC.
Steps to join CAR:
- Download the New REALTOR® Member Application: click here
- Complete and sign the application, listing Relive Realty as your office. Select the membership type that applies to you:
- REALTOR® (Primary): if CAR will be your main REALTOR® association
- Secondary Member: if your primary membership is already held at another REALTOR® association (apply here)
- Gather any supporting documents and prepare payment of all applicable fees. CAR requires full payment with your application.
- Upload your completed application to CAR here: Upload Application
- Notify Abby Steele at asteele@reliverealty.com once your application has been submitted.
CAR's fiscal year runs October 1 through September 30, and membership dues are prorated monthly. Your prorated dues amount is shown on the application at the time you apply.
